Reflexology Lymph Drainage

A very gentle non-invasive technique, specifically developed to work the lymphatic reflexes, to improve flow through the lymphatic system.

Proven to help reduce the physical and emotional weight of Breast Cancer related secondary lymphoedema. It can also support clients with non-cancer related auto-immune disorders, inflammatory conditions and primary lymphoedema.

  • For your convenience treatments can be at your home or at my treatment room on the eastern edge of Exeter.

‍ After a brief consultation, either seated or laid on a therapy bed, your feet will be cleaned and balm gently massaged in, before the second foot to be worked on is wrapped in a warm towel.

Alison will then work the lymphatic reflexes on your feet or hands, following a specific routine with very gentle pressure, to open up and improve flow through your lymphatic system.

If you have lymphoedema, Alison will work the better foot/hand first, then the more affected side, returning to the better side to finish.

Working the better foot/hand first, aims to empty the lypmh to make room for the excess lymph from the more affected area. This gives the excess lymph somewhere to go whilst the affected side is being worked. Finishing with the better side encourages the excess lymph into the subclavian vein and the circulatory system, from where it will eventually be processed by your kidneys.

  • Relaxing yet powerful, reflexology can stimulate healing responses:

    • Improving sleep patterns and energy levels

    • Reducing stress responses and muscle tension

    • Improving pain management

    • Promoting hormonal balance

    • Aiding relaxation

Reflexology Lymph Drainage in particular has been proven to reduce the physical and emotional weight of Breast Cancer related lympoedema. It can also have a positive effect on non-cancer related auto-immune disorders, inflammatory diseases and primary lymphoedema

  • You can have a one-off treatment, however a course of 4 - 6 RLD treatments will give maximum benefit.

In conjunction with a healthy diet and self-care, regular treatments can maintain balance within your body, mind and spirit.

  • An hour-long RLD treatment is £45. Your first appointment will be slightly longer, especially if you have a complicated medical history, however you only pay for the treatment time.

Seeing clients who have previously been told there is little that can be done to reduce their lymphoedema, experience the physical and emotional weight of it reducing, is a delight and a privilege.
